For several years, an integral part of my Christmas break has been carmel making. I love homemade carmel, and it's really not that tough to make. I thought I'd share the recipe:
Carmels
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 c. corn syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk
dash salt
Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until soft ball stage. Pour the carmel into a 9x13 pan lined with parchment paper. When the carmel is cool, cut it into pieces and wrap them in parchment paper.
