Life of Pi

A few of my friends have recommended to me that I read the book The Life of Pi.  The first suggestion came from my friend Allie in London, so I bought it to read on the ride home.  Then I slept on the plane instead...

Another recommendation came more lately from my friend Seth.  He was incredulous that I own it but have never read it.  So with his urging, I have commenced.  It's slow going right now due to school obligations, but I fully intend to finish it over Thanksgiving.  It's been good so far.  I read a quote the other day that I really liked, so I thought I'd share:

"To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation."

Life Update

Life has been busy lately, but busy is good.  I am enjoying my classes.  I recently decided that I like my cell biology class much more than I had previously supposed.

Here are a few thing that I have been thinking about lately:

*I am very excited to be graduating in April.
*Living with my sister is really fun.  Sharing clothes is the best idea anyone ever had.  When people ask me if it bothers me that Suzy wears my clothes, I just laugh.  What a silly thing to be petty about.
*Paul gets home in March.  I'm very excited to see him again.
*Jared won his football game last night.  I am so proud of him.
*I really like Missy Higgins.  My friend Seth told me about her.  I listen to her music when I'm getting ready for school and it makes me happy.  If you're interested, I love the song "Steer."
*Today was one of the most beautiful November days I've ever experienced.
*I am grateful for all the people in my life that are concerned for my welfare and well-being.
*I started on my goal to wear different earrings every day for a month.  It's been really fun so far.  Today I wore large yellow earrings that didn't match anything else I was wearing.  It felt refreshing.
*Although I am not very crafty, etc., I recently decided that I would like to be better at sewing.  I am brainstorming ways to work on that.

I saw this photo on a blog the other day.  It reminded me of how great it is to be a sister.
